Budget Guest Friendly Hotels

When it comes to budget hotels in Bangkok you really get a lot in terms of value. Many of the hotels listed here have swimming pools, flat screen televisions, free buffet breakfast and more. Matter of fact I'm pretty sure most people will be pleasantly surprised at how nice a budget priced hotel is in Bangkok.

Best thing of all the hotels listed here are located right in the heart of Bangkok's red light districts, most within walking distance. It can't get better than that can it? I've known people who have never bothered to unpack once they checked in to their hotel and headed straight to a go go bar and bar fined a lady

All of the budget hotels here range from 1200 THB to 2200 THB. I get a lot of email telling me those rates are appropriately considered budget. Are there any guest friendly hotels with much lower rates? Of course there are. But I'm not going to list them here because they are are horrible and will most likely guarantee you an unsatisfactory stay. I think you would agree that there are certain comfort levels that we all can't live without.

Swiss Park Hotel Bangkok - 1200 THB

Swiss Park is a long standing favorite for most. Tucked away in a quiet lane yet really close to Nana Entertainment Plaza, just a 10 minute walk away. Lots of great places to eat and drink around the area too. Nana BTS station is a 5 minutes away.
** The hotel will be temporary closed for refurbishment in March 2010
- The hotel will be rebranded, target to complete in August 2010
There will be no disturbing for in house guests as the hotel plan to run its refurbishment
floor by floor.

Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel & Resort - 1270 THB
128/1 Sukhumvit Road Soi 4

This hotel is located in a quiet area yet still close enough to Nana Entertainment Plaza, about an 8 minute walk.

There are lots of great places to eat and drink on Soi 4. Check out some of the pubs and open air bars as well as the pool halls where freelancers hang out.

Palazzo Bangkok Hotel - 1275 THB
111 Soi Niam-Utit, Ratchadapisek Road

The Palazzo is right next to a strip of very popular soapy massage parlors on Ratchadapisek road such as Emmanuelles and Caesar's Entertainment. Takes about 5 minutes to walk to those places. The Huay Kwang MRT station is the quickest way for you to get to Sukhumvit, about a 10 minute train ride.

Majestic Suites Bangkok - 1300 THB
110-110/1 Sukhumvit Road between Soi 4 - 6

One of the most popular hotel in the area. Just right around the corner is Nana Entertainment Plaza, about a 3 minute walk. Nana BTS station is close by to zip you around Bangkok. As a guest here you have access to the Majestic Grande's swimming pool, the much more expensive sister property just 5 minutes walk.

Manhattan Hotel Bangkok - 1400 THB
13 Sukhumvit Road Soi 15

Mostly popular with tour groups the Manhattan hotel is an exceptional value. The location is good since it's between the red light districts of Soi Cowboy and Nana. And this part of Sukhumvit road has many freelancers during evening time.

Hip Hotel Bangkok - 1400 THB
111/1 Soi Niam-Utit, Ratchadapisek Road

Hip Hotel was designed originally as a soapy massage parlor but somewhere along the way it never came through. It's close to many soapy massage parlors in the Huay Kwang area of Bangkok. It's a bit far from the city center, but you can use the MRT at Huay Kwang station, about a 5 minute walk from this hotel.

Salil Hotel Bangkok - 1450 THB

Salil Hotel is a very modern chic property close to Nana Entertainment Plaza, just 10 minutes walk. The BTS Nana station is not too far either. They offer a complimentary tuk tuk that will take you to the main road of Sukhumvit.

Nana Hotel Bangkok - 1450 THB
Sukumvit Road Soi 4 (Nanatai)

Not exactly the newest or shiniest hotel, but still very popular with tourist. A very popular disco called Angel's Nana is in the lobby. And literally hundreds of freelancers hang outside the parking lot starting at evening.

Nana Entertainment Plaza is just right across the street.

Ibis Nana Hotel - 1470 THB
41 Sukhumvit Road Soi 4

Here's one of the newest girl friendly hotel on the same Soi as Nana Entertainment Plaza, just a short 3 minute walk. The rooms here are quite comfortable if a bit small but everything is new and in order. Pretty good buffet breakfast too, one of our reviewers noted.

City Lodge Sukhumvit 9 - 1499 THB
Sukhumvit Road Soi 9

City Lodge is run by the Amari group, a very popular name that handles 5 star properties throughout Asia. It's about a 10 minute walk to Nana Entertainment Plaza and close to BTS Nana station. There are many freelancers that are outside this part of Sukhumvit road.

Paradiso Boutique Suites - 1500 THB
1/11-12 Sukhumvit Road Soi 10

Paradiso is a brand new hotel closest to Soi Cowboy. Though Nana Entertainment Plaza is within 10 minute walking distance. If you're staying here check out Thermae Bar right across the street in the basement of the Ruamchitt Hotel. That's where you'll find many Thai freelancers.

City Lodge Sukhumvit 19 - 1599 THB

The City Lodge is now run by the Amari Group, a well known hotel chain in Asia with an excellent reputation for service and quality. There is another City Lodge on Sukhumvit Soi 9, closer to Nana.

Soi Cowboy is just a short 5 to 10 minute walk away from this hotel.

Ambassador Hotel - 1700 THB

The Ambassador has been a favorite of long time visitors to Bangkok's red light districts. The rooms here are a bit dated but if you're staying here you'll be near many popular clubs in the area, especially Climax Club in the basement of this hotel.

This Citadines is the closest to Nana Entertainment Plaza. About a 10 minute walk away. The rooms here are very nice and great for long term stay.

A very nice hotel located in a quiet area. Not only is it close to Soi Cowboy it is also close to the oil massage parlors located around the BTS station Phrom Phrong. The posh Emporium Mall is close too and a great place to people watch.

This hotel is just a 5 minute walk to Patpong and in a very good area. The MRT train station is just right across the street and the BTS Sky Train is a 5 minute walk as well. There are lots of international fast food restuarants to eat around this hotel.

Citadines is technically a serviced apartment so you'll often find a small kitchen. It's very well run and as you can see from the video very modern and clean. It's about a 5 minute walk to Soi Cowboy.

Citadines Sukhumvit 16 - 1850 THB

This is another Citadines property just south of Soi Cowboy, about a 10 minute walk. It's close to the Sky Train as well to get you around the areas of Bangkok.

Another fine Citadines serviced apartment property. This one is particularly special because its next to Bed Supperclub and Q Bar, some of Bangkok's finest clubs.

This location is in easy reach of Nana and Soi Cowboy.

Rose Hotel Bangkok - 1950 THB

This hotel has undergone a renovation in 2004 so it has been nicely updated. It's very close to the go go bars of Patpong and two soapy massage parlors, JC Infinity Massage and Versailles Massage, both just a 5 minute walk away.

The Dawin Hotel Bangkok - 1990 THB
35/1-2 Soi Sukhumvit 4 (Nanatai)

One of the newest hotels on the block. Just a 5 minute walk to Nana Entertainment Plaza. There are also lots of great pubs to enjoy around the area.

On|8 Sukhumvit Hotel - 2099 THB

I've got a feeling On|8 Sukhumvit is going to be a popular girl friendly hotel. It's a brand new hotel so the beds and furnishings are in excellent shape. The room size is quite okay but could be a bit bigger. Nana Entertainment Plaza is just a 5 minute walk away east and there are plenty of freelance ladies across the street near a Starbucks.

Livingstones Lodge Bangkok - 2180 THB

This is a very interesting hotel property. It's a boutique hotel in a quiet area with a sports bar and an excellent steak house. It's not far from Soi Cowboy, about 5 minutes taxi ride, and close to a lot of oil massage parlors.

Royal President Bangkok - 2299 THB
43 Sukhumvit Road Soi 15

This hotel is strategically located between Soi Cowboy and Nana red light districts. You also have the advantage of meeting freelance ladies outside on Sukhumvit road. Close to the Sky Train stations to so it's a good location. The video on the right shows a suite room.
