Luxury Guest Friendly Hotels
Bangkok has a lot of highly acclaimed hotels and some of them have a guest friendly policy. Though most are not located near the red light districts you'll still be able to reach them quickly by taxi or the Sky Train stations nearby.
You might be asking "If someone could afford to stay in a Five Star Hotel, why should they worry about paying a joiner fee?"
It's true some people have so much money that they don't care. However I can say for sure it's not a good feeling to have a security guard stop you and lead you to the reception desk to pay a joiner's fee. It's not a good feeling and most describe it as a "walk of shame" especially when it's a long walk through a hotel lobby.

Grand Centre Point Ratchadamri 4250 THB
153//2 Mahatlek Luang 1, Ratchadamri Road
When it comes to luxury hotels this is a bargain. A friend of mine stayed here for business so I had a chance to take a look at this property. The guest facilities in this Centre Point is incredible such as the swimming pool and fitness center. It's not close to any red light districts, so you'll have to hop on the Sky Train at Chidlom station, which is about 10 minutes walk away. You will be close to some of the nicest department stores however.
Mayfair Marriott Serviced Executive Apartments - 4490 THB
60 Soi Langsuan
Most westerners have heard about the Marriott so may feel comfortable staying in one. It's located in a very quiet area and not too far from the red light districts by taking the Sky Train or a taxi.
Lebua at State Tower - 4929 THB
1055/111 Silom Road
One of the main attractions to the Lebua is the popular roof top bar. Plus they have a great view up there too of the river and the city. The closest red light district is Patpong, about a 10 minute ride by taxi.
JW Marriott Bangkok - 6944 THB
4 Sukhumvit Road Soi 2
This hotel name is popular in the west and one of the best business hotels in Bangkok. They are very well known for their service as well as quality. Nana Entertainment Plaza is just a short 3 minute walk from here.
Westin Grande Sukhumvit - 6825 THB
259 Sukhumvit Road
One of the best business class hotel. I've personally stayed here myself when I first started working in Bangkok. Rooms are excellent with the best beds. Soi Cowboy is less than a five minute walk north.
Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok - 6900 THB
155 Rajadamri Road
Another internationally well known luxury hotel in Bangkok. The area is quiet, fortunately the Racthadamri BTS station is right across the street for easy access to red light districts. But to be quite honest if you can afford this hotel you'll probably be taking a taxi to get around most of the time.
Shangri-La Hotel - 7350 THB
89 Soi Wat Suan Plu, New Road
A very fancy hotel near the river with professional service. It'll take about 15 minutes to get to Patpong by taxi if the traffic isn't bad. But the Sky Train is nearby so you can take it to Patpong by getting off at Sala Daeng Station.
Intercontinental Hotel Bangkok - 7760 THB
973 Ploenchit Road
This is another fancy hotel near all the pricey shopping malls, just right across from the Hyatt Erawan. To get to any of the red light districts you can ride the Sky Train at Chidlom BTS station. Shouldn't take more then 20 minutes.
Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok - 8500 THB
494 Rajdamri Road
This hotel gets high marks for quality, service and location. It's not close to any red light districts, about a short 20 minute ride on the Sky Train that's nearby. Again, if you can afford this place you probably take a taxi everywhere.
This hotel is super close to a lot of popular shopping malls such as Gaysorn and Central World.
Peninsula Hotel Bangkok - 9000 THB
333 Charoennakon Road
If you ever wonder how it feels like to be treated as royalty then you should stay here. This hotel has been rated by top travel magazines for high service and quality. However it's the furthest away from Patpong. It's best to take the ferry provided by the hotel to get across the river and hop on a taxi. Total trip time should be about 30 minutes. Or you can take the Sky Train at Saphan Taksin BTS station and get off at Sala Daeng BTS station.
